CASA BOTANICA DESIGN + BUNGALOW TWELVE SHOP
Casa Botanica Design is a Mexican-American family-owned art and design studio rooted in the landscapes, craft traditions, and visual language of Mexico and the American Southwest.Founded by Lindsay and Jorge Pascal in 2013 while living in La Paz, Baja California Sur Mexico, the studio began as Bungalow Twelve, today as Casa Botanica Design, our focus has evolved toward original art, contemporary Mexican design, and long-standing collaborations with artisan workshops in Mexico. At the heart of our collection is Amate, an ancient Mexican art form made from natural tree bark. Working closely with our artisan workshop, we combine traditional handmade Amate paper making with our own contemporary design process. We develop compositions to integrate this beautiful craft in todays evolving interiors. We create works that honor the remarkable material while moving its design language forward.
Lindsay brings more than 15 years of experience as an Interior Design Director for boutique hotels and five-star resorts in California. Her background in interiors informs the scale, restraint, materiality, and architectural quality of the collection. Jorge was born and raised in Northwestern Mexico, where his connection to the landscape, agriculture, and regional culture began. His perspective and experience are integral to the studio's relationship with Mexico and the artisan communities with whom we collaborate. For more than a decade, our work with Amate has centered on thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and enduring relationships with the people who make it. We believe traditional materials can remain deeply connected to their origins while continuing to evolve through new ideas, forms, and environments. Casa Botanica Design is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and we welcome visits to our weekly local Artisan Markets.
